To mark the start of the Six Nations, Bodnant Welsh Food creates giant Welsh Flag pizza to celebrate Under 20s Wales vs Italy match
A North Wales Food Centre is giving Welsh rugby fans a slice of Italy and Wales, ahead of the Under 20s clash between Wales and Italy at Eirias, Colwyn Bay at 7.10pm on Friday 31s January.
Bodnant Welsh Food has used produce made on-site and local producers to develop an Italian-style one metre pizza featuring the national flag of Wales Y Ddraig Goch with its Red Dragon of Cadwaladr.
Combining handcrafted Aberwen Cheese made on-site, chopped leeks and tomatoes the pizza provides a true authentic taste of Conwy and Italy.
Served in the Farm shop situated at Bodnant Welsh Food, this handcrafted Welsh Flag pizza, baked by the on-site artisan bakers Jack and Andy will be offered for visitors to taste for a limited time in the Farm shop on Friday 31st January.
Tansy Rogerson from Bodnant Welsh Food said: “We’re really passionate about Welsh food and wanted to do something really different to combine Conwy’s passion for rugby too.
“The Welsh Flag Pizza will make the perfect patriotic dish whatever team you support. We hope the Italian squad will explore the local area and come and visit us for a true taste of Conwy.”
Former international Welsh rugby player Rupert Moon said: “There’s a great appetite in the area for rugby and of course, Welsh Food. We loved the idea of combining our nation’s brilliant food with our passion for sport to mark Friday’s match.
“As professional rugby players, sometimes you have to give yourself a treat after a tough, gruelling match and I think a slice of a Welsh Flag pizza is more than allowed.”
