County Carlow RFC are looking for an Under 19 team from Wales, Scotland and France to play in a Celtic tournament
A Chara,
The 2012 Pan-Celtic Festival will be held in Carlow, Ireland, next April (across the Easter school holidays). Our Club (County Carlow RFC, one of the oldest in Ireland), , is exploring the possibility of organising an U19 quadrangular tournament to coincide with the Festival. Our own U19s and three invited teams, one from Wales, Scotland and France (Brittany?) will compete, thereby linking rugby with the other Celtic festival activities (music, song, dance, drama etc.).
We will organise and manage the event; we will seek to find accommodation (free or subsidised) for three parties of 30 for the two-day event; we will provide meals in our club; of course, beverages will be available for purchase!
What we require to progress the event is a commitment from one club in each of our brother / sister Celtic nations that they will attend. We will need this commitment before mid January if we are to progress the planning.
I ask you to communicate this message to relevant clubs.
