A full league programme this Saturday as the pace hots up in the promotion/relegation stakes.
Last week Bro (P18 W6 L12) visited 6th place Mold (P19 W8 L11), this Saturday its the other way round . Bro despite 2 yellow cards were deserved 13-6 winners and with home advantage this time they should bag the points to steer clear of the relegation zone,
Colwyn Bay welcome 8th place Bethesda (P19 W7 L12) to Brookfield Road, Pesda had a comfortable 63 -0 win in the reverse fixture but there are indications that bottom club Bay have regrouped and it will be a much closer affair this time. However the Howgets forward power should see them home.
The Cofis in 9th position (P17 W5 L12) travel to Maesdu Road to face 4th place Llandudno (P16 W12 L4) in a rehearsal of the Conwy Land Rover Senior Plate final in May. Due to postponements these sides have yet to meet in the league this season but form dictates a home win -the Tudno Goats are in great form having won 8 games on the trot.
Leaders Nant following their WRU Plate semi final win last Saturday travel over the straits to Cae Smyrna to take on 5th placed Llangefni (P17 W10 L7).First meeting of the season between these old rivals. Cefni although having a good first season following promotion are in need of a win after 3 successive league defeats. Nant will be buoyed by their last weeks' success and the need to maintain their lead at the top should have enough in the tank to take the points.
Current league champions Pwllheli in 3rd place take on 11th place Dolgellau whom the narrowly defeated 10-9 at the Marian last week. Although Dol will give their all in their relegation battle I cannot see them, on form, 'upsetting the applecart' at Bodegroes.
Cae Ddol will host the fourth meeting of this season between hosts Rhuthun (7th) and second placed Bala. The visitors have one twice, home and away whilst Rhuthun won at Maes Gwyniad in the WRU Plate earlier in the season. Both of the teams come into this game on the back of good wins. Bala need to be at their best to take the points and retain that runners up position-away win.
In Div 2 top game will be runaway leaders CR Dinbych visit to Meifod to face a COBRA side who inflicted their first league defeat of the season on them last week. The score was 13-0 at Caeau Les Phillips -this should be a cracker -make your way to Meifod on Saturday.
In Div 3 Teirw Nant could clinch the title and promotion to Div 2 if they beat CRDinbych 2nd's at Pant Carw whilst Holyhead face a stiff task at Flint to get a victory to assure them of the runners up spot,
