The season is now beginning to take shape as we move to Week 4
Last week encounters produced some high scoring matches and a glut of points with champions Pwllheli clocking a round ton at Bodegroes against bottom club COBRA. Last year's runners up Nant ran riot at Abergele scoring 99points and joining in the points frenzy Bala amassed 51 points against Rhuthun and Caernarfon 41 points at Llandudno. It was a much closer affair at Mold when visitors Bethesda had an 18-16 'smash and grab' victory and in a 32-28 thriller at Bro the home side edged out Colwyn Bay.
We start this week with what should be a cracking local derby at Bala when neighbours Bro are the visitors. Both teams have made very positive starts to their campaigns with bonus points victories under their belts. Home advantage may give Bala the edge.
Llandudno after a disappointing result at home last week travel to Barcelona (sorry Bethesda !!) and will be keen to up the gears to get back on track. This should be an exciting open game , Pesda were 45-10 winners last time and form suggests that they will enjoy success again on Saturday.
Abergele make the journey to Meifod to face COBRA after both teams suffered unprecedented heavy defeats last time out. This has the ingredients of being a tight contest with the teams striving for a confidence boosting victory to kick start their campaigns. COBRA won 21-9 last time, this could be close and in a tight match the visitors kicking prowess /game could tilt the balance in their favour.
Champions Pwllheli travel to Colwyn Bay . The Lleyn boys are enjoying a very productive start to their campaign to retain their title whilst newly promoted Bay are finding their feet in the senior division and came very close at Bro last week. The title holders will have to fire on all cylinders to overcome the home side but should have enough to wrap up the points.
Nant entertain Mold following a big win last week. The visitors have been at the wrong end of very narrow defeats in their last two outings and will as usual battle all the way. Nant took the honours 29-11 last time and they should be first past the post on Saturday.
Second from bottom Rhuthun host in form 3rd placed Caernarfon. The Cofis won a very tight match last time 13-12 and on current form they should have enough to go home with the spoils.
