Last weekend's 6 Nations excitement is now behind us and we can now look forward to Saturday's mouth watering clashes.
Second placed Nant carry the North Wales banner to Div 1 West Central Skewen in the SWALEC Plate quarter final. Skewen beat Pwllheli 22-13 in the previous round and whilst it will be a tough call the Pwllheli boys feel that Nant have the ability to upset the form book and come away with a victory. Skewen are in second place in their league but' Hogia Nant' have the pedigree to do well.-'Pob lwc hogia"
Bottom placed Bro entertain Bethesda who are in 5th position. The home team are 14 points adrift in the relegation zone and with only 5 games to go it will take a monumental effort and reliance on other results to stave off relegation.Bethesda had a big win last time out and won corresponding match last December 24-0. It may be closer this time but Bethesda may prove too strong in the battle of the quarrymen.
Dolgellau visit Caernarfon having beaten them 21-16 at home last year. The visitors have won their last two matches are in a rich vein of form. The Cofis have also been victorious in their last two games and this could turn out to be a close contest with perhaps the home side having the edge.
Second from bottom Dinbych make the journey to Meifod to take on COBRA and try and make up the points differential to give them a chance to avoid relegation. This is an important game for both clubs, Dinbych won 13-5 last time but home advantage may favour Cobra.
League leaders Pwllheli make the journey to 3rd placed Mold who with two consecutive defeats will be keen to get back on track. This promises to be a very competitive encounter with Pwllheli needing every point to sustain their title ambitions. They won the corresponding game 19-8 last December and will need to be at their best to combat a very well organised side. A close call but the Lleyn men, on form, may take the honours.
Rhuthin who are in 7th place host 4th placed Bala. It was a close game last time with the visitors winning 18-14.Whilst an under strength Rhuthin performed creditably in their defeat at Dolgellau last time out Bala may prove too strong in what will be an interesting and hard fought contest.
