REPORT: Roberts scores on return to Welford Road. WRU report.
Cardiff Blues battled long and hard in the Anglo-Welsh Cup against Leicester Tigers at Welford Road before going down to a 24-12 defeat.
Tries from Jordan Olowofela, Will Evans and former Blues player Luke Hamilton steered the home side to victory in a scrappy affair. The Blues lost prop Corey Domachowski to a yellow card after conceding a stream of penalties and that allowed Evans to crash over for the first try and hoist the Tigers into a 10-0 lead.
Olowofela's score enabled the home side to go into the break 17-0 ahead, but the Blues hit back in the second half and fit-again centre Jack Roberts scored a try on his return to Welford Road. Steve Shingler added the conversion and then scrum half Lewis Jones that cut the gap to five points on the hour mark.
Scottish international back row man Hamilton then barged over for a try that Joe Ford improved to make it 24-12
