REGISTRATION CARD CHECKS BEFORE GAMES
To All clubs
Following another reported problem regarding the verification of registration before games can all clubs be aware of the following procedure that should be adopted.
Before any game:
Club officials (coaches/managers) have a duty of care to ensure that players are of the correct age and are properly registered with the WRU.
The only way that this can be achieved is by the producing and checking of players ID cards before commencement of games.
To be valid the WRU ID card should be correctly filled in and signed by the WRU authorised registration secretary - NO EXCEPTIONS.
If valid ID cards are not available then those players concerned are not allowed on the field of play - NO EXCEPTIONS.
A team must not play against a team that consists of players that have not produced valid ID cards - NO EXCEPTIONS.
These requirements have been in place for a number of seasons and I find it disappointing that I am still receiving reports and complaints that some clubs are choosing to ignore the rules, the good news for me is that responsible clubs are now refusing to play fixtures if ID cards are not produced, if all clubs were responsible we would not have this problem.
On Sunday December 4th we will be carrying out spot checks to ensure that the registration procedures are being carried out at games, we will give advice and guidance where required and will impose immediate penalties if required, a reminder of the penalties available to us:
£50 fine for every unregistered player found on the field of play.
£50 fine for a club playing unregistered players.
£50 fine for a club knowingly playing against a team with unregistered players.
Suspension of a clubs Mini & Junior sections for persistent breaches of the registration rules, (this may affect the WRU grant monies awarded to clubs).
This will be the final reminder to all clubs regarding this issue, no further excuses or reasons will be accepted for the non compliance of these very important rules which are there after all to protect both the children and club officials.
Keith Hulse
Registration Secretary, Gogledd Cymru.

MATCH REPORTS
Dinbych U14s 41 v COBRA 5
Dinbych’s Under 14s continued their winning run with a 7 try win over visitors COBRA at Caeau les Phillips.
COBRA made the long journey from mid Wales with a number of key players missing through injury. Dinbych on the other hand fielded their strongest squad of the season with 21 players on hand. The coaching team took the opportunity to experiment with some positions and whilst this proved very valuable, it also took something of an edge off the performance.
Dinbych struck early with number 8 Jake Jones picking up form the base of a scrum 10 metres out to power over for an opening try. Josh Morris secured the conversion. A second home try soon followed. A line out was safely won on the Cobra 22 metre line and scrum half Elis Vaughan spun the ball out wide to centre Aled Douglas who ran in for his first try since returning from injury.
Jake Jones then scored his second try in almost identical c circumstances to his first, picking up from the back of a short range scrum to cross under the posts. Josh Morris added the extras. The final act of the first half saw full back Gruff Roberts touch down for Dinbych’s fourth try to give them a comfortable 24-0 lead at the interval.
Dinbych rang the changes at half time and replacement number 8 Harri Evans soon made an impact crossing in quick succession for two tries. Josh Morris converted the second of these to give a 36-0 scoreline. Prop James Fisher Jones then added Dinbych seventh try with 10 minutes left.
Cobra to their credit continued to battle and earned a deserved reward for their toil as Daniel Owen crossed for a late consolation try in the right corner.
On Sunday, the Under 14s are at home to Bangor. The Gwynedd side are one of this season’s form sides in the age group and Dinbych know a stern test awaits them.

Nant Conwy U15 31 v Colwyn Bay U15 29
There are not many teams in North Wales (Junior or Senior) who go up the A470 and come away from Nant Conwy where with the final kick the game could have been won by the visitors.Nant RFC are one of the strongest teams in North Wales at this age level and took the honours today in a pulsating match played in great spirit, on a beautiful Autmn day, in front of the new club Nant club house, and again watched by a large very appreciative crowd.
The Bay got off to a great start where the Bay forwards dominated the early exchanges in the loose and tight with new boy Thomas Studlow Poole putting in another fine performance in the pack. The Bay went 5- nil up after Oscar Astbury split the defence with a scything run for an unconvereted try from the 10 metre line after 5 minutes. The Bay continued to dominate in possession and territiory, however a break out by the Nant backs gave Steve Peters the opportunity to run in from 40 metres to make it 7:5 with a conversion by Emyr.Nant again from a break down moved the ball quickly through the hands and with good support allowed Sean Roberts to go under the posts to make it 12: 5.The Bay hit back immediately when the Oscar Astbury inside centre went over again for a converted try try which again was quickly followed by a counter score by Nant Sean Roberts to make the score 17 :12.In the last minute of the first half after after some missed tackles by the Bay Arthur from Nant scored again and with Gethin converting the try Nant went in 24:12 at half time.
At 24:12 down many teams would have sunk without a trace in the nearby River Conwy but the Bay boys after a half time pep talk came out firing on all cylinders with new boy Luke Hughes going in for his first try for his club to make the score 24:17.Again Nant hit back with a converted try to lengthen the score to make Bay score two converted try’s to win the game with only 15 minutes left which made the game look safe, however the Bay had other ideas. The Bay backs countered well stopping the Nant flying backs with some great tackles in the wide open spaces which led to good re-possession and turnovers. From a long range run Harri Chinery Parkes leading again by a Captain example forced his way over for a try hitting the line with two tacklers hanging of him.Time and again the Bay ran the ball back at Nant from deep with Scott Kane Winger getting hauled down after a fifty metre run only 5 metres from the line. From the resulting line out Bay forwards took ascendency and drove over Harri Chinery Parkes for his second try of the day.
For the last seven minutes of the game the Bay were in the Nant half but outstanding defence by Nant backs and forwards kept the Bay from getting over the try line to claim the game.Tactical kicking with good follow up running by the Bay backs kept the Bay in the opposition 22m and with one minute to go after an infringement for off side by Nant it gave Oscar Astbury a penalty shot a goal from 45 metres to win the game.In spite of a magnificient strike by Oscar the ball fell agonisingly 5 metres short of the posts, which enabled Nant to get the ball off the pitch and claim the game.
Today was an outstanding game of sporting rugby played by two fine sets of young men representing the very best of North Wales rugby. The Bay Men of the Match were Harri Chinery Parkes Flanker for leading the fight back with a Captain example and Scott Kane Winger for great defence and attack nullifying the threat of the flying Nant Conwy Wingers who usually score a hatfull of trys.
Great effort all round boys you should be proud of yourselves.
