Colwyn Bay U10 v Rhyl U10
A sunny January morning saw the eagerly anticipated match between possibly the two best U10 sides in North Wales, Colwyn Bay and Rhyl. The first half saw both sides defend extremely well with each side managing to score a converted try apiece. Despite more strong defending from Rhyl in the second half, Colwyn Bay were able to gain the upper hand and a hat-trick of tries from Chay Bonnington eventually saw the home side victorious with a final score of 26 to 7.

Colwyn Bay U11 v Rhyl U11
Colwyn Bay Under 11s played host to the Rhyl Under 11s at Brookfield Drive this Sunday.
Rhyl got off to a great early start, snatching a try in the first minute of the game. Josh Lynch quickly scored an equaliser for the Bay, racing past the end of the Rhyl defensive line. Colwyn Bay took the offensive but a stalwart Rhyl defence held them off the try line until a momentary gap in their line allowed Josh to put Colwyn Bay ahead. Rhyl quickly gave Colwyn Bay a taste of their own medicine with a fantastic run along the touch line to keep the scores equal.
Josh Lynch, as ever quick to spot opportunities, broke through the Rhyl defences to put the Bay back ahead again. However, the visitors began to pile on the pressure and scored two quick tries in the final minutes of the first half, putting them ahead.
Rhyl started the second half in the same form and some great use of the pitch was rewarded with a fresh try. Colwyn Bay attacked steadily in response, driving Rhyl back into their half until Josh was able to score again.
Rhyl were able, through steady pressure and a fantastic try planted straight from the kick off, to pile on more tries against the home side. The Colwyn Bay team fought back, though, and were rewarded in the final moments of the game with a final try; with the whole team driving Rhyl back, a great drive by Joe Burrows making enormous ground, setting up Jack Jones for the final dive.
The final score was 56:31 to Rhyl. All the Bay conversions were made by Will Neale.
