Who will win the coveted Division 1 title?--will we know tomorrow? Or will we have to wait until Bank Holiday Monday 4th May at Meifod?
There are only two Division 1 games this Saturday and their results could decide who will be crowned champions this season.
Nant have reduced Pwllheli's lead to four points after their mid week bonus point win at Dinbych.
Current leaders Pwllheli travel to relegated Bro for their final game of the season and the home side's fighting spirit will be put to the test by the Lleyn outfit who have only lost once this season. On form Pwllheli should be capable of a bonus point victory although their last league encounter was a tight 20-12 win.
Second placed Nant make the journey down the valley to in form Llandudno who are undefeated in their last four games. Nant won 26-10 in the corresponding match earlier in the season but Tudno may prove a difficult nut to crack in an open game. This should be an exciting match and Nant will have to pull out all the stops to get a bonus point victory.
If Nant fail to get a bonus point win (and Pwllheli get theirs) their title aspirations will be over as a bonus win in their last game of the season at Cobra will not be enough to lift the title. If both sides are equal on points league rules state that winners will be the club with the most WINS and in this scenario Pwllheli will be the Champions.
There are other scenarios but neither side can afford to slip up tomorrow and it all makes for an exciting end to a great season.
I hope you have enjoyed my punditry, remember its only a bit of fun in an attempt to generate interest and talking points in what has been a very enjoyable season with many great games to look back on. Thanks as always for your support and feedback!!
Just a few snippets which may be of interest to the outcome of this season's title race/season-
Llandudno are the only side (so far) to have beaten Pwllheli this season.
Dolgellau (who face Nant in North Wales Cup Final) are the only side(so far) to have held Pwllheli to a draw--13-13 at Pwllheli.
Bro beat Llandudno 15-11 in their home league encounter, and Cobra have achieved the double over Llandudno beating them 24--18 away and 24--7 at home.
Nant have currently the second highest bonus point total--15,( Bethesda are first with 16 )--Pwllheli have 9.
As always I may be wrong, but sitting on the fence is very uncomfortable so I predict that the title will go to the wire and there will be a showdown in Meifod on the 4th May.
