Wrexham overcame a young COBRA side in tonight's Rybrook Land Rover Conwy North Wales Cup and progress to the quarter finals.
The hosts went ahead with a Nick Dodd try after 15 minutes. In what was apparently a pretty even contest (even though we on the sidelines couldn't see it), COBRA responded on the half hour mark with a converted try and conversion to lead 5-7 and followed this, two minutes later, with their second try to extend the advantage to 5-12.
With half time looming, Wrexham reduced the arrears with a Tom Walker try, making it 10-12 at the break.
Two minutes in to the second half, Nick Dodd scored his second try, which was converted to give the home side a 17-12 lead which they held on to and earn themselves a home quarter final against Bala.
Big hand to referee Mike Jolley. It was difficult for us spectators to try and see what was happening but Mike had a cracking game considering you could hardly see your hand in front of you.
Man of the Match was Wrexham's second row Rob Moore.
