Following statement received from Adam Taylor, WRU.
Following my e-mail to all clubs on Friday 29th January whereby the Union’s Competitions Management Committee applied a temporary transfer deferral with teams would not being able to transfer players between clubs, I am now pleased to confirm that the deferral has now been removed and the transfer system has been reopened to Clubs.
The system has been reopened and is able to be used via MyWRU for Male & Female Senior and Youth teams with Mini & Junior transfers conducted through the normal channels.
As outlined within the e-mail, due to being in a position whereby we have information relating to a return, CMC members agreed that in the need to remain agile in the attempts to encourage as many players as possible to return that transfers once again be permitted.
When we are in a position to return to WRU Competition as outlined within the Pathway to Participation, there is likely to be a review in relation to potential deadlines as we have in usual years in line with the respective Competitions however for the time being can I once again remind Clubs that the transfer window is now in fact open.
The Competitions Management Committee will remain agile and continually work towards returning to rugby in a safe manner as advised by the Welsh Government.
Should you have any issues or queries then please contact myself (ataylor@wru.wales)
Thanks very much,
Adam
