North Wales clubs are waiting for the WRU to put forward their proposals for a new structure in 2017-18.
Following on from meetings with all the North Wales clubs, the WRU are about to put forward their proposals for a revamped league structure for 2017-18.
A spokesperson for the WRU told us that: 'The Clubs will receive our proposals in the next couple of days, allowing them enough to time to discuss the contents with their players/members etc and they can then come to the 25th April meeting with their queries/observations'.
In a letter to the 30 clubs currently playing in the North Wales leagues, the WRU stated that they were working to the following schedule:
11 April 2017
Following feedback from trials and initial consultation - WRU to compile a draft league structure for the North Wales clubs in the National League.
25 April 2017
Call a meeting of the clubs to discuss the draft league structure as presented by the WRU.
2 May 2017
Meeting of the Competitions Management Committee to finalise all proposed competition structures, including National leagues, Cups etc.
13 May 2017
Final day of Season 16/17 - Clubs populated into the agreed structures.
16 May 2017
Community Sub Board approval of recommendations of the Competitions Management Committee for the structure and composition of all competitions for 17-18 season.
