Pace hotting up at top and bottom of Div 1 for honours and relegation.
We have some great games lined up in all Divisions this Saturday. Your pundit has been told to stay away from the bookies on Grand National week after a series of 100% cards.
Today (Friday) its G'day to my mates 'Bruce and Sheila' Williams after their epic journey through Australia . Fair dinkum to Gary , he kept us all updated on NWales rugby matters from a distance of 10,000 miles-- welcome home Gary and Sue.
In Div1 we start with the clash at Pant Carw when leaders Nant entertain 7th placed Rhuthun -P20 W9 L11-the only side to beat them in the league this season. The front runners will have to be at their best -Rhuthun took second placed Bala close last week at Cae Ddol. Nant were also outstanding last time out in defeating Llangefni and I go for a home win.
Current champions Pwllheli in third place with only two defeats this season welcome bottom club Colwyn Bay. The champions should bag the points here but to Bay's credit they have shown excellent fighting qualities of late and will give their all.
Bro in 9th spot P19 W7 L12 host Caernarfon just below them in 10th position P18 W5 L12. The quarrymen have been buoyed by two great wins on the bounce to haul themselves out of the relegation zone. Bro won 20-16 back in September but the Cofis beat them in the semi final of the Conwy Land Rover Plate last month. It could be tense and close as a win for either side should be sufficient to retain senior status next season. The losers will still have work to do to avoid the drop. On form a home win is on my card.
In form fourth place Llandudno who last lost a league game on 4th November last
year welcome 8th place Bethesda to Maesdu Road. Tudno were victorious 30-26 last month in what was considered to be one the best games at Dol Ddafydd this season. Resurgent Pesda have won four of their last five outings but Tudno are unbeaten in nine successive matches and will take some stopping- I predict a home win.
Llangefni in 5th position P18 W10 L8 take on 6th place Mold P20 W8 L12 at Cae Smyrna. The Islanders are badly in need of a W after four successive defeats. The visitors won 33-11 in the reverse fixture last month. Close call home advantage could tip the balance.
In Div 2 the top match will be leaders CRDinbych visit to 3rd place Wrexham who already hold a decision over them this season when they beat in the WRU Bowl at Bryn Iestyn- a great game in prospect here.
In Div 3 I have already congratulated Teirw Nant when they clinched the title and promotion last week. Bottom clubs Benllech and Mold 2nds lock horns on the island as they both seek to end their season on a high note.
Finally a racing tip for Saturday's Grand National - a real 50-1 outsider -Irish trained but Bethesda bred no 16 "CHASE THE SPUD" get on it before the odds tumble!!.
