He re-iterated that the Club hold a 25 year lease on the changing rooms, but due to the lack of investment by the council, they are in urgent need of some TLC to bring them into the 21st century. He added that this will be a COMMUNITY PROJECT.
It is the only facility that is available to the rugby, cricket and football clubs. Once the refurbishment is completed the rugby club would like to see more use of the facility from other groups, i.e. Friends of Pentre Mawr, Abergele Harriers Running Club and Mothers & Toddlers among others.
The cost of the project has been set at £152,000 inclusive of VAT, of which the rugby club and other regular users (Cricket & Pentre FC) have to raise a minimum of £35,000 towards this cost, with the remainder coming from various grants.
The first joint fund raising day is going to be held at Pentre Mawr Park on Saturday 15th September when all 3 clubs (Rugby, Cricket & Pentre FC) will hold an open day where it is hoped to have the plans available for viewing. Further details will be released shortly.
