Are you between 18 and 27 and over 6ft 4in?
Live in or around the North Wales Region?
Enjoy sport?
Then WRU RGC Academy are looking to work with you!
The WRU RGC Academy are looking to work with Rugby players and non-Rugby players alike as they scour the region for potential rugby talent to play for the academy and senior teams. In this new initiative anyone between the ages of 18 and 27 and 6ft 4in or over will have the opportunity, following initial screening, to access top class skills coaching, conditioning and nutritional advice in a true performance environment.
Marc Roberts the WRU Performance development manager commented on the initiative saying" We have a huge land mass in our region, over 10,000 square miles and this scheme gives us the opportunity to really open the doors to a large potential pool of talent. We hope that the scheme may end up uncovering the next George North or, at the very least, engage more people into our national game"
Ex-Wales international Chris Horsman, who now works as the WRU RGC Academy skills coach, said "I've been really pleased with the calibre of players that I've seen coming through the academy and the quality and quantity of players in the senior team. However this new initiative gives us the opportunity to make sure we leave no stone unturned as we look to squeeze every bit of potential from the region"
Anyone wishing to be considered for this scheme please feel free to contact Marc Roberts on 07843367203 for an informal chat or e-mail on: mroberts@wru.co.uk'
