Tickets are now available for the upcoming International Rugby Series, which is taking place at Eirias Stadium, Colwyn Bay on Friday 9th and Saturday 17th November. In a massive coup for the region, rugby fans will get to see some of the world’s top teams face each other in 2 double headers.
On Friday 9th November an age old rivalry is re-awakened when Russia take on USA followed by the huge hitting Pacific Islanders from Samoa as they face Canada in a mouth watering clash. Saturday 17th November see’s another high intensity showdown as Tonga face USA followed by Canada v Russia.
Samoa, currently ranked 10th in the world, will be using the game as a warm-up for their clash with Wales the week after and Tonga will also be putting the final touches to their preparations as they face Scotland at Murrayfield the following weekend.
The games are full ranking internationals and so the countries will provide strong squads with players such as Soane Tonga’uiha (Northampton/Tonga), Takudzwa Ngenya (Biarritz/USA), Kahn Fotuali'i (Ospreys/Samoa), Vasily Artemyev (Northampton/Russia) and DTH Van Der Merwe (Glasgow/Canada) to name just a few potentially on show during the series.
After the success of the Wales U20 6 Nations fixtures, organisers are hoping for a big turnout to cheer on the teams. One element that may wow the crowds is the legendary haka, which will be performed by both Samoa and Tonga prior to their respective games.
Gates open for both of the double headers at 4.30pm with the first of the 2 games kicking off at 6pm. A fan zone will be open in the Indoor Events Arena so come early and enjoy the pre-match atmosphere before the games get underway!
Tickets are priced to cover 2 games on each evening and can be purchased from Venue Cymru via their website or by calling 01492 872000.
