Scoring eight tries Bro took full advantage of a weakened COBRA and this emphatic win was well overdue much to the delight of the home support.
The hosts took the lead within 3 minutes from a scrum just inside the opponents half, scrum half Aron Roberts combining well with number 8 Huw Parry who crossed over underneath the posts. Fly half Mathew Hayden adding the conversion.
Within five minutes they extended the lead from a quick tap penalty taken by Nathan Jones, the prop gained yardage before offloading to flanker Marc Morris who scythed through the defence to score an unconverted try.
In bitterly cold conditions both sides were guilty of many knock-ons.
COBRA created chances and put Bro under pressure scrum half Rhodri Davies trying his best to put his team on the front foot and number 8 Jack Jukes carrying well, the visitors also had three kickable penalties during the first half and chose to kick for touch but Bro defended well and were able to win turnover ball and clear.
Ffestiniog started the second half with the same intensity as they started the first. They soon pressurised COBRA into penalising and this time chose to kick for touch. From the ensuing 5m lineout a training ground move executed perfectly between hooker Aron Hughes and prop Jones culminated with Hughes crashing over in the corner and Hayden converting.
Minutes later with COBRA on the back foot a poor kick up field was gathered by Bro's Dylan Daniels, the second row combing first with scrum half Roberts before receiving the ball back and unselfishly passing to Morris who crossed over for his second try - converted by Hayden.
Not to be out done by his back row team mate - Huw Parry then claimed his second after winning turnover ball on the half way and running down the wing unopposed scoring an unconverted try.
Fifteen minutes into the half COBRA once more gained a kickable penalty but once more went for touch, they went close from the lineout and went through 6 phases before Morris won turnover ball a Bro cleared.
Half way through the second period saw even more cause for celebration for the hosts as back row Dewi James made his come back following a lengthy knee injury which has kept him out for nearly 18 months - their influential player will be glad to have finished the match unscathed and will be a massive boost for Bro.
Ffestiniog scored their sixth try from a scrum on their opponents 22, five phases later prop Lee Evans crashing over and Hayden adding the conversion.
Bro's forwards and backs combined to score the next try, the forwards recycling well through four phases before spreading out to the backs. Mathew Hayden then put centre Dewi Atherton through the tightest of gaps and crossed the whitewash for an unconverted try.
COBRA pressurised well during the last fifteen minutes and claimed their consolation try five minutes from the final whistle from a quick tap penalty taken by prop Hywel Jones who was then driven over the try line. Fly half Rowan Swanson converting.
Bro reached fifty points in the last play of the match. Scrum half Roberts stole turnover ball on the half way running unopposed into the visitors 22 before offloading to full back Steve Price who scored and converted his own try.
Bro will now entertain either Bae Colwyn or Rhyl in the semi final to be played on Saturday 14th of February 2015.
This was a much improved all round performance by Bro, their defence was excellent as was their attacking and support play - a performance they must reproduce with another home match this week against Dinbych in the league.
