Clwb Rybi Caernarfon held their end of season dinner and presentation night at the Meifod Hotel last week. Following a record breaking season, with the 1st XV winning back to back North Wales Div 1 Championships and the 2nd XV wining back to back Gwynedd League and Cup doubles, a good night was had by all.
The Ladies XV finished second in their league – losing only one game, and would doubtless have finished top if more south Wales side had travelled to the Morfa to honour their commitments. The Ladies also reached the Semi Final of the Welsh cup, losing by a single point with the last kick of the match.
The Awards presented were:
Ladies
Most Improved: Emma Edwards
Players Player: Dyddgu Hywel
Morwyn y Morfa / Player of the Year: Cenin Eifion
Youths
Most Improved: Gruffydd Ifor & Tomos Jones
Player of the Year: Aled Jones
2nd XV
Most Improved: Owen Bracegirdle
Players Player: Bryn Granville
Player of the Year Rob Farrar
1st XV
Most Improved: Jac Mathews
Players Player: Tristan Gwilym
Player of the Year: Andrew Williams
Clubperson of the Year: Ann Hopcyn
And in recognition of his 9 years as first team coach, a special presentation was made to Ieuan Jones who, after three league titles and one north Wales cup, steps aside from the 1st XV to take over coaching duties with the Youth team.
Pre-Season training starts on the 14th of June on the Morfa at 7pm – old and new players welcome.
