Great performance from the boys in West Wales takes them through to the Morgan Griffiths Bowl
NE Wales under 15's finally fulfilled their promise today by becoming the first provincial side to make it into the Morgan Griffiths bowl, the second tier competition in the Dewar Shield. Against a large and well organised Ceredigion side, who had run Llanelli close in their previous game the boys put in a massive performance.
It didn't look like it was going to be their day after 10 minutes and at 12-0 down to two quick tries, the boys had got off to their usual sluggish start. However they gradually edged their way back into the game and two opportunistic tries from scrum half Owen Evans plus an excellent conversion in the swirling wind from Danny Cross, saw them go in 19-12 down at half time.
In the second half they were superb from 1 to 15 and dominated the game. The forwards kept the Cerdigion team pinned in their own half and two further tries from second row Matty Williams saw them home by 24-19.
