In another epic encounter Caernarfon Ladies came away from their second visit to South Wales in a week with another epic victory
Playing a determined Crymlyn side the Cofis showed exceptional bravery in every aspect of the game.
With the loss of Elin Evans at centre re juggling was required and Sara Patchet came on as replacement.
Withstanding 20 minutes of constant battering, the first score came when Lauren Hassett raced the full length of the pitch to score under the posts, and with the dependable Sera Bailey's conversion the Cofis were 14-0 ahead.
It was Caernarfon's turn to turn the screw and from a quick release of the ball Sera Bailey scampered through the tackles to score between the posts and then proceeded to add the extras to make the half time score 14-0 to Caernarfon.
The second period saw Crymlyn press their weight advantage with their juggernaut pack and their try came with Sarah Weland touching down. But undaunted, Caernarfon continue to press forward and from a tap penalty on the 22 Sera Bailey scored her second try but this time failed with the conversion.
The nature of the game saw both teams attack at every opportunity and these forays could have led to more scores. The tackle rate of Isi Rees was phenomenal. It was Crymlyn who eventually succeeded when Amy Jones crossed and with able kicker Vicky Jenings' conversion it became a close game at 19-12.
The bruising tussle led to a succession of injuries which slowed the game and after another crunching tackle Caernarfon lost speedster Lauren Hassett.
In the last quarter both teams scored tries, the first by Caernarfon's captain Cenin Eifion who led by example throughout the eighty minutes and completed a tremendous performance by scoring in the corner. Kim Bowler completed the scoring but the result leaves Caernarfon still unbeaten in both league and cup competitions this season.
This performance again showed the dedication and determination of the Caernarfon Ladies, their tired bodies will need the week's break to recover for the visit of Hendygwyn ar Daf next Sunday with the kick off at 2.30 on Y Morfa.
