Elwyn Williams and Mark Jones step down as Nant Conwy RFC first team coaches
AFTER 18-seasons as youth team and first team head coach which culminated in leading Nant Conwy to a Millennium Stadium final appearance, Elwyn Williams is stepping down from the role.
Williams, who saw his side narrowly miss out in the final of the Swalec Plate earlier in the month to Penallta in Cardiff’s showpiece venue, will as of next season head a group of personnel that will concentrate on analysing players skills and development.
Also stepping down from the first team is assistant coach Mark Jones, who is taking up the offer to become Nant Conwy’s director of rugby for the entire Pant Carw club with his main responsibility focused on encouraging and ensuring a pool of ex-players and others are sufficiently trained and supported in achieving coaching qualifications.
Taking over as first team coach for next season is last season’s youth coach, Medwyn Vaughan, who will be assisted by Bryn Jones as first team manger and forwards coach, backs coach Kevin Thomas and Ray Williams as fitness coach.
