The young gogs play Aberavon in today's final of the Amdahl Bowl at St Helens in Swansea
A great chance today to bring some more honours to North Wales as our youngsters take on Aberavon in the final of the Amdahl Bowl.
Austin Thomas, WRU Community Rugby Development Director for North Wales, stated:
'Last season, Gogledd Cymru Under-15 played as a region and won the Amdahl Bowl at Swansea. Following their performance, the organisers decided to split the North Wales region in to three, Gogledd Cymru South, Gogledd Cymru North North East and Gogledd Cymru North West.
You can see how quickly the North Wales youngsters are developing and improving by the fact that despite splitting the region in three for this tournament, we have still managed to get a team to the final. This is testament to the tremendous hard work that the Development Officers are doing in their areas.
Last season, we had about 35 youngsters as part of the squad, now with the split in to three regions for this competition, we have over 100, all playing to a very high standard which is bound to pay dividends further down the line. We are widening the net in our search for talent in all areas of the North Wales region.
I am sure that all in the North will wish the North West boys the best of luck in today's final.'
