Last week's matches maintained the high scoring tempo of the season so far.
Nant led the way with a 83 points demolition of Mold at Pant Carw. Champions Pwllheli were too strong for newly promoted Colwyn Bay enjoying a 10 try bonanza at Brookfield Road whilst fellow promotees 'Hogia Bro' maintained their unbeaten record with a last gasp victory at fancied Bala. Llandudno are well and truly back on track scoring six tries in their 36-26 win at Bethesda. The Cofis maintained their good form and their unbeaten run getting the points at Rhuthun. COBRA finally got their season going overcoming Abergele in a 26-23 thriller at Meifod.
In this week's matches we start with the clash at Pentre Mawr when Abergele host Colwyn Bay. Gele pipped Bay in the promotion stakes in 2014/5 season and this promises to be a cracker of a game. The home side badly need to register a win to kick start their season and with Bay smarting from a heavy defeat last time out it bodes well for an exciting encounter for the supporters. Close call with home advantage favouring Gele.
Bottom club Rhuthun travel to 4th place Bro. The home side have made a very positive unbeaten start whilst the visitors have struggled so far. Bro is not an easy place to go at the best of times and whist Rhuthun will pull out all the stops it could be heavy going for them on Saturday.
A great game in prospect at 3rd placed Caernarfon when they entertain Bethesda who are currently 7th. The Cofis are going very well, unbeaten so far whilst their opponents have been inconsistent. On form the Cofis have it -they won 29-13 in last season's corresponding match and although the 'howgets' will be incentivised to spoil their old rivals unbeaten record home advantage may prove decisive.
Llandudno on the back of a great win at Bethesda welcome 5th placed Nant who had another big win on Saturday. The visitors have been on fire since their opening match defeat by Pwllheli and this will be a great contest between two sides who thrive on a fast and open game. This is an important game for both clubs as they have title aspirations-could be close but no sitting on the fence- I take Nant by a short head.
COBRA travel to Mold buoyed by their success last week against Abergele. The hosts suffered a heavy loss at Nant and will be keen to re group-they won corresponding match 24-13 last season -could be close but home advantage could come into play here.
Current champions and league leaders Pwllheli welcome 2nd place Bala for what will be a keenly contested affair. The visitors suffered a set back last week against Bro but will be looking to repeat their last season North Wales Cup semi final success at Bodegroes, The leaders however are playing with free scoring confidence and will take some stopping, a great game in prospect with the hosts favourites to enter the winners enclosure on Saturday.
