You will be pleased to learn that your pundit is 'off the bottle' after his 5/6 success in last week predictions.
Well done Llandudno for spoiling my 100% with a hard earned victory at Bro-(you made Howie's day on his homecoming to the land of his fathers !!)
There were as usual some great games in Div 1 last week . Bala after a flying start were pegged back to 24-17 at home to Caernarfon to retain 3rd position. Bottom club Colwyn Bay with a much improved performance raced ahead at Llangefni before fading to allow the hosts to clinch a 27-15 victory in the second half. Mold defeated Bethesda 32-20 after falling behind in a very close first period. The home side forward domination making the difference in the final outcome. Dolgellau put up a spirited display at second placed Nant who eventually ran out 24-0 winners. Rhuthun went to Bodegroes to challenge league leaders Pwllheli full of confidence on the back of some excellent performances. The Champions eventually proved too strong taking the spoils 37-8. Bro could not maintain their recent good form against a strong Llandudno outfit and lost out 17-3 in a close game.
In Div 2 leaders CRDinbych edged Wrexham 22-19 at home in a what was a close call. Welshpool registered their first win of the season 13-6 against visitors Llangollen. Shotton, COBRA and Bangor won their matches.
In Div 3 match of the day Holyhead won the Anglesey derby coming away from Menai Bridge 24-18 winners to retain their unbeaten record. Pwllheli seconds and Teirw Nant continue to set the pace in this division.

This week is Round 1 of the WRU Plate-as usual no predictions from me in trophy comps- . There is one thing I will predict , that the matches will be keenly contested affairs as teams will strive to get into the hat for Round 2 in their quest for Principality stardom and glory on WRU Finals day at the stadium.
The competition kicks off on Friday evening 7-30 pm ko when Bro travel to Nant who made it to the semis last season. These teams have already met in the opening game of the season when Nant were comfortable 64-5 winners at Bro.
Bala host Rhuthun who whilst having a set back at Pwllheli last week have put up some good performances this season. This should be a cracker.
Pwllheli who were knocked out in the quarters in last year's comp make the well trodden journey to the Morfa to face Caernarfon. They have already beaten the Cofis 17-12 this season and this Saturday's encounter will no doubt be the usual highly competitive game between these old foes.
Dolgellau travel up to Colwyn Bay after a creditable performance at Nant last week. Bottom club Colwyn Bay also showed improved form at Llangefni last time out. All in all this match has the ingredients to be a very closely fought encounter.
Llandudno host Mold, both clubs are playing well and this should be a very competitive match. It could turn out to be a 'battle royale' up front with the home backs eager to show their pace and skills.
Bethesda make the journey over the bridge to Llangefni with the hosts already beaten them the league campaign.. The 'how gets' will be keen to register their first win of the season.

In Round 2 of the WRU Bowl there is a tasty mid Wales derby at Meifod when 3rd place COBRA take on 4th place rivals Llanidloes. Third division giantkillers Benllech who put out second division Abergele in last round host another division 2 side Newtown. Shotton who are in 2nd place in Div 2 welcome Div 3 leaders Pwllheli seconds. Teirw Nant who are joint leaders travel to 6th place Flint. It will be a mid table clash at Bangor when they entertain Rhyl.
Match of the day will be at Bryn Estyn when Wrexham entertain leaders CRDinbych following a great game at Dinbych last week when the home side edged a close contest 22-19.

In the only scheduled league game undefeated Holyhead travel to Machynlleth.
