Another selection of great match reports from the weekend's games involving the juniors.
WREXHAM U13 44 v COLWYN BAY U13 17
The Bay faced their severest test against a large robust Wrexham side who ran in three tries within the first ten minutes. The Bay showed great character led by Captain for the day Sebastian Marshall driving through Ruby Roberts creating a penalty ten yards out from which quick thinking created an opportunity for Sam Earl-Jones to crash over for the Bays first try.
The Bay maintained their momentum from the kick off driving into the heart of Wrexham with great ball retention and spreading the ball wide through the hands of the whole backline for Nye Michael to run round his opposite number to score in the corner to bring the Bay within 7 points at half time.
Despite some brave tackling from Mathew Vaughan and Joe Fisher Wrexham broke through on four occasions. To the Bay's credit they came back with a well worked peel lineout driven on by Ruby Roberts and cleared out by the forwards and distributed down the full length of the backs once again to the speedy Nye Michael to cross over in the corner but had the presence of mind to score under the posts which was converted by Sam Earl-Jones.
The Bay will have learnt a lot from this game not least the need for effective first time tackles/low body positions and the need to all put effort for all of the game. Some great glimpses of individual bravery and skill to achieve three tries which is more than most teams have scored against Wrexham all season.
Man of the Match: Nye Michael for some excellent finishing and determination – well done Nye!

Denbigh U9 4 v Colwyn Bay U9 5
A full squad turned out for the game away to Denbigh, with Ellie Fitzgerald, Natey Waller, and Michael Disharoon making up numbers for a home team down to eight players. With both teams eager in the autumn sunshine, two hard-fought matches were played out.
Early pressure saw the Bay pin Denbigh back in their own half for much of the the opening game, though a fine try-saving tackle by Joe Morris and some hard hits by Man of the Match, William Neale, were necessary to ensure a deserved though narrow 4-5 victory for the visitors. Try scorers for the Bay were Steve Earl (2), Joe Burrows (2), and Lucas Candlish (1). Steve Earl was top tackler.
A victory under their belts, an enthusiastic set of Colwyn players stepped up a gear in the second match. Giving Denbigh barely a moment to think on the ball, the Bay put in eight scores in a match that they totally dominated. Tries were scored by William Neale (2), Steve Earl (2), Osian Stephens (1), Isaac Lawrence (1), Morien Brasington-Martinez (1), and Jack Jones (1). On-loan Michael Disharoon was himself unlucky not to score for the home team following a storming run.
