The Senior side travel to Ynysybwl hoping to make it three wins out of three whilst the Under-18's play the Dragons on Sunday.
The RGC Senior side face their third away game in a row this Saturday when they travel south to play Ynysybwl. Last weekend's 23-16 win over Merthyr has left the North Walian side in second place in Division 1 East, separated from leaders Rhydyfelin only on points difference. However, they know they face no easy task this weekend against an Ynysybwl side which following an opening game draw against Penallta, last week comprehensively beat Mountain Ash with their backline being in particularly good form.
The RGC side named by Head Coach Chris Horsman and his assistant Damian McGrath sees Wales Under 20 winger Iolo Evans make his first appearance of the season on the right wing before flying out next week to South Africa with the Wales 7's squad. The only other changes from the side that defeated Merthyr being the inclusion of prop Simon Griffiths on the bench and Andrew Williams starting as blind-side flanker in place of Aaron Gwyn who replaces Williams as a substitute.
Speaking prior to the squad's last training session before Saturday's game Chris Horsman said:
'Squad selection has been as difficult as ever this week with there being real competition for every position. This competition will only become more intense over the next couple of weeks with players such as Matt Parry, Harri Parri, Lewis Barker and Joe Simpson coming into the reckoning as they return from injuries.
At Tuesday night's training session we spent a lot of time looking at the video of the game against Merthyr. Although we won, there are still loads of areas for improvement and it says an awful lot about the players that they recognise this as much as we coaches do and are as keen as we are to work on achieving it. Having three away games as our opening three matches in Division 1 East was always going to be a challenge, and although I am sure that Ynysybwl will prove to be strong opponents I have every confidence that the team can achieve the same result as in their opening two fixtures.'
