Too many coaches and spectators encroaching on the playing area mean that drastic action will be taken to safeguard referees and players
To all clubs,
Following a discussion at the last Junior Association meeting regarding Technical Areas and the cordoning off of pitches on match days, I requested from the WRU, permission through the Association to implement rules in North Wales to make those items a requirement, the equipment of which to be funded from the WRU annual grant allocation to clubs.
I have received notification from the WRU that this item will now be on the agenda at the National meeting in Cardiff on December 4th which I will be attending.
Having parents, spectators, coaches and substitutes close or even on the touch line is directly responsible a majority of discipline cases that we are dealing with every month and it also makes the referees job more difficult than it already is, making it a requirement to move everybody to a reasonable distance away from the touchline is an obvious way forward.
If clubs or individuals have any comments or suggestions for me to take to the meeting please forward them to me as soon as possible, the clubs in the south may present their ideas at the meeting in Llanidloes on Thursday November 29th.
