Ar ddiwrnod gwlyb a niwlog, bu i Fethesda benderfynu chware gyda’r gwynt cryf yn yr hanner cyntaf. Yn ystod chwarter cynaf y gêm, ni welwyd dim gwahaniaeth rhwng y ddau bac. Ar ôl 23 munud, agorwyd y sgorio trwy i Carwyn ap drosi cic gosb o bellter. Am weddill yr hanner, gwelwyd pac Nant yn dod yn gryfach ond ymddangosai fel pebae’r gwynt yn fygythiad i chwarae agored. Unig sgôr arall yr hanner cyntaf oedd pan fu i rif 13 yr ymwelwyr, gicio cic gosb ardderchog gyda’r gwynt i wneud y sgôr yn gyfartal ar yr hanner.
Dim ond 4 munud yn unig o’r ail hanner a chwaraewyd cyn i bac Nant fynd trwy chew cymal o chware ger llinell Bethesda. Diwedd hyn oedd i’r prop a Chapten Nant, Elgan fynd trosodd am ei ail gais mewn gemau olynol. Bu i Carwyn ap gadw’i record dda o drosi trwy ychwanegu’r pwyntiau o bell allan ar y chwith.Ugain munud o amser chware oedd yn weddill gyda blaenwyr Nant yn feistri erbyn hyn, bu i’r eilydd o brop, Gerallt, godi’r bêl o gefn ryc a gwthio tros linell yr ymwelwyr i sgorio cais - Carwyn ap yn chwanegu’r ddeubwynt eto gyda chic isel gyda’r gwynt a gliriodd y traws. Y nod iawn, tawelodd y gwynt yn syth wedyn a dyma’r unig gyfnod yn y gêm y gwelwyd peth chwarae agored. Daeth y sgorio i ben ar ôl 38 munud, pan ymunodd Carwyn ap mewn ymosodiad ar ongl a thorri i sgorio cais allan ar y dde. Ychwanegodd y ddeubwynt i roi sgôr derfynol o 24 -3.
Bydd NANT yn chwarae GARTREF yn erbyn DOLGELLAU nesaf nos Iau, 1af Rhagfyr 2011 mewn gêm Cwpan Gogledd Cymru gyda’r gic gyntaf am 7.30 o’r gloch.
On a wet and misty day, Bethesda decided to play with the strong wind in the first half. Both packs appeared to match each other during the first quarter before full back, Carwyn ap slotted over a penalty from distance after 23 minutes play. The strong wing appeared to stop running rugby throughout the first half but, gradually, the Nant pack became stronger. But in the final play before the half time whistle, the Bethesda no.13, Mathew Parry, showed his prowess in kicking a superb penalty kick successfully to make it an even score on half time.
Only 4 minutes of the second half had been played when the Nant pack went through 6 phases of play on the visiting line before prop and Captain, Elgan went over for his second try in successive matches. Carwyn ap kept up his excellent place kicking form by converting the try from wide out on the right. Twenty minutes play was left with the Nant pack becoming even more dominant, when replacement prop, Gerallt picked the ball up from the base of a ruck and powered his way over for a try. Carwyn ap converted with a low kick with the wind. The last quarter was played with the wind having ceased and this was the only period when open rugby was seen. With two minutes left, Carwyn ap completed the scoring when he joined that attacking line at an angle and touched down to score the final try. He successfully converted to make a final score of 24 – 3.
NANT’s next match will be a HOME game against DOLGELLAU on Thursday evening, 1st December 2011 in a North Wales Senior Cup match.

Colwyn Bay 7 v Rhyl 31
Following report kindly supplied by Rhyl RFC
Rhyl put in their best performance of the season to beat Colwyn Bay away from home. The
Bay were in a confident mood as the game started and fielding a full strength side they threw every thing they had at Rhyl in the opening quarter of the game.
Rhyl though were in no mood to be bullied by a huge Bay team and tackled anything that moved. With the disipline and desire Rhyl showed in the tackle area they soon started to turn over Bay ball. Rhyl's back line were looking sharp and the new half back pairing of James Farrell and Jason Blackmore never put a foot wrong all day, Farrells sniping runs and Blackmores kicking game had the Bay in all sorts of trouble. Rhyl were playing all the right rugby in the right areas being patient kicking deep and turning the Bays forwards when near their own line and running passing and supporting the ball carrier when within striking distance of the Bay try line.Winger Jack Hughes, hooker Gareth Jones and scrum half Farrell scored first half tries with full back Rhodri Calton Jones adding one conversion to go in at the break 0-17 up.
Farrell scored his second and Carlton Jones scored Rhyl's fifth try after a sweeping back move started by the young Blackmore and the ball going through five pairs of hands before Jones crossed under the posts. Jones added both conversions. To their credit the Bay never gave up and were rewarded with a converted try but on the day were beaten by a very good Rhyl outfit. Up front for Rhyl Dale Blackmore and Lewis Maxwell supplied a steady flow of lineout ball. Evergreen former skipper Richie Nelson, Tim Prior and Gareth Budso Jones put in very workman like shifts at the coalface and behind the pack the excellent Farrell and Blackmore were well supported by wings Hughes and Sam Brewerton centres Rob Tilly and Rhys Edwards with Carlton Jones having his best game in a Rhyl shirt.
Following report kindly supplied by Colwyn Bay RFC
Rhyl bounced back to winning form after their surprising loss to Denbigh last week, with their visit to Brookfield Drive last Saturday in the latest round of their Division 2 North Swalec League campaign with a convincing 5 tries (3 converted) to one (converted) victory against the Seahorses.
The Bay 1st XV bossed the early exchanges but a missed penalty from close in front of the posts after eight minutes saw the visitors begin to assert themselves. After 21 minutes wing Gareth Jones opened their scoring. Full back Rhodri Carlton-Jones converted.
With astute kicking for territory from Rhyl fly half Jason Blackmore, Rhyl added to their tally on the half hour through wing Jack Hughes out wide to leave Rhyl 12-0 up at half time.
The second half opened with much of the same with Rhyl scrum-half James Farrell darting through from the base of the loose to score. Carlton-Jones converted and after 60 minutes crossed the line himself converting both efforts. Farrrell scored again with ten minutes to go but after both sides saw yellow for brawling, the Bay upped their game as Rhyl began to cruise as flanker Chris Hughes battled through to score with scrum half Ian Marshall converting.
A break now for the Wales V Australia international next week until 10 December. The Seahorses entertain Llangollen from the League below in the third round of the Swalec Bowl at home on that day – their only real chance of silverware now this year.

Caerau Ely 14 vs Llandrindod Wells 10
Two 'sucker-punch' Caerau Ely converted tries in the first 10 minutes and the match seemed all over for Llandrindod. Picking themselves up by their bootstraps, and drawing on every ounce of commitment they could muster, this rapidly maturing Llandrindod side then proceeded for the next 70 minutes to hold Caerau Ely, often dominate them, and certainly outscore them by 10 points to 0. The end result was a scare for the second place League title hopefuls, and another match where Llandrindod, using their heads as well as their bodies, were able to build on their recent run of good results after such a poor start to the season. Also, they gained an invaluable loser's bonus point.
It was Caerau Ely's outside centre, Gareth Thomas, built like an over-sized prop but with a surprising turn of speed who bludgeoned his way over the line in front of the posts, Liam Carey having an easy conversion. Later in the match, Thomas' threat was neutered by
Llandrindod using the simple expedient of a three man tackle. Caerau Ely's next try came a few minutes later when a back movement sliced through the Llandrindod defence for wing Simon Bullen to score, Carey having a more difficult kick this time.
By now Llandrindod were starting to get the hang of this game and with more possession, spent periods in the Caerau Ely half who, eventually, conceded a penalty, Mathew Williams kicking a difficult goal in a blustery wind.
The second half was noteworthy for the total commitment by both sides, a Llandrindod converted try, and a try that never was. With the visitors building up the pressure from the restart, a Caerau Ely mislaid pass enabled Llandrindod centre Dan Ruell to intercept on the halfway line and outsprint the defence to touch down under the posts. Williams
converting. The try that never was involved skipper and wing Jac Holden. Gathering a pass from scrum half Dale Wilson, he had skipped and high-stepped his way past bemused Caerau Ely defenders and was well on his way to the line when the referee blew for a slight forward pass.
The final 10 minutes of this match were frenetic as Caerau Ely used all their power to try to overcome the Llandrindod defence. Tremendous work with bodies being put on the line and Llandrindod tackling everyone inred who had the ball kept Caerau Ely out and it was a blessed relief to all on the pitch when the referee blew for time.
This week Llandrindod have no match because of the International. Next week, they host bottom club Aberbargoed in the League.
