On Saturday, 31st March 2012 against Georgia, the senior RGC 1404 team hope to create new record for a fixture involving a North Wales team
Sunday 18th of December 2011 saw a crowd of 1223 attend the RGC 1404 U18s game against Cardiff Blues U18s. By modern day stadium standards still perhaps a comparatively modest crowd. However, due to the unique design of the new performance facilities at Eirias, the sound emanating from it made it appear as if it were four or five times as large.
On Saturday, 31st March 2012, the senior RGC 1404 team hope to improve upon this further when they attempt to break the record for the biggest crowd ever to attend a fixture involving a North Wales team. This will be the first home game for the RGC 1404 senior team in their new home, the fantastic new facility at EIRIAS.
Tickets for this game can be purchased from EIRIAS (01492 577900) or Venue Cymru (01492 879771). Tickets are FREE for Children and cost £10 for adults for any area of the EIRIAS stadium.
Mally Tidswell the centre manager at Eirias said "Following on from a good crowd at the under 18's game in December and excellent crowds for the under 20's internationals in February and March, rugby has proven it has huge support from the North Wales public. The RGC vs. Georgia game is an excellent opportunity to see another high class rugby game and I am sure the Georgian squad will be given a great North Wales welcome that was given to the previous visitors to EIRIAS."
Chris Horsman, the RGC 1404 Head coach, says: "The players, coaches and management are all really looking forward to our first game at our home ground EIRIAS. The North Wales support at the Wales U20s games has been tremendous and we are looking forward to a large home crowd for this top class fixture"
Marc Roberts the WRU Regional Performance manager said "This is a great opportunity for our region to make its own history and to come out in force and support the RGC 1404 development region. We are all eagerly looking forward to this first senior game at EIRIAS and we look forward to seeing a passionate home crowd in attendance"
