Head Coach Chris Horsman says that he is as excited as the players as he looked forward to the next few months
The RGC 1404 squad senior squad begins it's preparations for entry into Division 1 East of the WRU Leagues next season when it begins pre-season training at Eirias Parc, Colwyn Bay next Wednesday evening, 6th June.
The squad will be training three evenings a week until the middle of July when they take a short break before recommencing before the end of that month. Three highly competitive friendlies have been arranged for August with League fixtures starting at the beginning of September.
Head Coach Chris Horsman says that he is as excited as the players as he looked forward to the next few months: 'Last season could not realy have gone any better, finishing as we did with two hugely encouraging performances against Sale Jets and Georgia and, whilst that has quite rightly given the players a huge amount of self belief prior to our entry into Division 1 in September, that will all amount to nothing if they don't take the pre-season period as seriously as they should. Not that I think that they won't for one minute. The commitment shown by the entire squad last season could not be faulted and I have no reason to believe that it won't be exactly the same this campaign.
Both myself and my assistant coach Damian Mcgrath have many many years experience of working in a professional rugby environment and we will be looking to draw upon this experience in creating a similarly professional environment for the RGC 1404 squad to prepare for next season in. I know from speaking to a number of the boys that they can't wait for the season to begin and I can understand why. Next season has the potential to be a historic one for North Wales Rugby and all of the squad want to have the opportunity to be part of that history.'
