Another great line up and the prospect of some thrilling sevens rugby
There is an impressive line up of talent descending on Machynlleth this Saturday as the Annual Sion Wyn 7's competition signals the start of another season.
Teams entering this season include: Newtown A and B, Machynlleth, Llangefni, Mold, Preseli Baa Baas, Preseli Lambs, Dolgellau A and B, Bala, Harlech, Aberaeron, Aberystwyth and Caernarfon.
Machynlleth RFC Chairman, Rhys Morris, says that the club is ready to pull out all the stops to make it another fantastic day of quality rugby for all to witness.
Rhys stated: ''The 'Siôn Wyn 7's' tournament was established in 1995 and is a tribute in memory of a young man, who had been a large part of Clwb Rygbi Machynlleth for years. Siôn Wyn Jones was a talented flanker and a very popular character within the club, and the community in Machynlleth, and it is a privilege for us to carry his name on Clwb Rygbi Machynlleth's foremost event.
''The success of the 'Sevens' competition over the years has been excellent, thanks to those who sponsor the tournament, the Club's committee and to the players and supporters who work hard throughout the year to ensure the success of the event. We hope that it will be a memorable day again in 2019, and we wish the best of luck to all who compete!''
If you can't make it to Mach on Saturday, watch out for a tournament report and pictures on this website on Sunday.
